Despite the massive efforts in Puerto Rico, the people that reside in the mountainous regions still have little to no assistance, supplies or care. Our partner, XIII Folds, has relentlessly been sending teams into these hard-to-reach regions in order to assess and meet the needs of these people since the immediate days after the storm.
If you look at the picture in this post, you can see how remote and damaged these areas are. This is no easy mission.
As of December 5, a new push has begun to create a mobile camp and team that is easily sustainable to continue these efforts. For a complete list of material needs please contact us directly.
The present team has been on the ground since September. With a new team heading in, it has become apparent that this mission will be long-term. Our goal is to send the new team into the region with a fully outfitted vehicle, portable housing, solar power, protection and medical equipment as well as with enough finances to sustain the effort for a minimum of three more months.
This effort will be overseen by former military personnel that are now bringing their expertise and experience as veterans to an area in need of serious help. Our partner, XIII Folds is a foundation that was created, much like Life In The Arena, to support a particular group: responders and veterans.
If you would like to be included in this mission as a volunteer on the ground in Puerto Rico, please reach out to us.
